11/9/2012 meatballs

Tonight I made meatballs the way my mom does it where they are soft and have no sear on them. There is sauce in the meatballs and they are tender and fall apart a little, but it's totally worth it.

                                                                

I made this with a little garden salad and some frozen fresh pasta.

For dessert I made a black bottom peanut butter cream pie. I made the pie crust (martha) and used instant pudding for the chocolate and then used a peanut butter pie recipe for the PB part here, and sprinkled with chocolate jimmies. When we eat it later we will put readi whip on each piece. I didn't have the stuff to make real whipped cream, which I would have liked to do.

Dinner BBQ beef

Last night I made BBQ beef, southern style green beans with bacon and homemade mac and cheese with tomato slices.

For dessert I made 2 different mini cupcakes (coconut cream and pink vanilla) and a  cookie that my Grandma and Mom always make at Christmas because I've been really excited for Christmas and also to add to the comfort food aspect of the meal. I call those cookies "Grandma Cookies".

Oh, and Maddy (my love) approves of the cupcakes as well.

A little bite about me

I should have been born in 1941, then I could have been a 1960's housewife. It would have been awesome except for the ramped racism, sexism and general excepted bigotry. Chris Rock says "the good days ... my ass, I don't want to live anytime before the Jackson 5". I do wear dresses, I hate pants and I love to have dinner on the table when my spouse gets home from work. Still, I don't think 1963 would have been excepting of my wife and I setting up house and living that atomic dream life.

So this blog will be about my adventures in cooking, baking, housekeeping and party planning. It will also be about heavy things like having no real idea of what I want with my life, wanting a baby, having a crazy family and being college educated, kinda married, thirty years old and broke.
